Jamshedpur, May 22: A new chapter has been added to the railway history of Jharkhand as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three newly modernised railway stations in the state via video conferencing today.

The stations—Govindpur Road, Rajmahal, and Shankarpur—have been developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme with state-of-the-art amenities aimed at enhancing passenger experience.

Govindpur Road Station: A New Passenger Experience
Located on the Hatia-Rourkela railway section, the revamped Govindpur Road station is now a hub of modern facilities. Developed at a cost of Rs 6.65 crore, it offers:
* Four railway lines
* A new station building

* Spacious waiting rooms
* Advanced ticket counters
* Elevated platforms with platform sheds
* Foot overbridge, lifts, and ramps
* Enhanced lighting systems

Rajmahal Station: Airport-Like Amenities in Eastern Railway
Part of the Malda division under Eastern Railway, Rajmahal station has been transformed into a modern railway stop with a budget of Rs 7.03 crore. Key features include:
* Eye-catching design and lighting
* Accommodation for long trains
* Improved pedestrian access
* Renovated waiting areas
* Ramps and special toilets for differently-abled passengers
* Indoor video walls, designer signages, and sculptures
Shankarpur Station: Gateway to AIIMS Deoghar
Situated on the Jasidih-Madhupur line, Shankarpur station has emerged as the nearest rail link to AIIMS Deoghar. With a development cost of Rs 7.7 crore, it now boasts:
* Passenger sheds
* Illuminated digital signboards
* Well-equipped platforms
* An underpass for safe crossing
* Modern ticket counters
* Waiting halls
* Parking facilities
* Renovated foot overbridge
These developments mark a significant boost to Jharkhand’s railway infrastructure, promising improved convenience, accessibility, and travel experience for passengers.
