Jamshedpur, May 28: Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal, a low-pressure area has formed off the Odisha coast as of 8:30 am on May 27.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level and tilts southwards with height. It is expected to intensify and become more marked over the next 48 hours as it moves slowly northwards.

Adding to the atmospheric instability, a trough also extends from Southeast Rajasthan to North Chhattisgarh, passing through central parts of western Madhya Pradesh at an altitude of 0.9 Km above mean sea level.

May 28: Thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds (30–40 kmph), are likely at isolated places across the state. Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations, particularly in the southern and adjoining central parts of the state.

May 29: Enhanced thunderstorm activity with gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph is forecasted at isolated places. Heavy rainfall is likely over northeastern and southeastern parts of the state.

May 30: Thunderstorm and lightning activity is expected to persist across isolated areas. Heavy rainfall likely to affect the northeastern regions of the state.

May 31: Thunderstorms and lightning may continue to impact isolated areas of the state.
