Dhanbad, May 31: The Dhanbad Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has successfully rescued a missing minor student of De Nobili School, Bhuli, from Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee, the boy had been missing since May 24 after he left home and did not return. His father is currently working abroad, and the family reported the incident to the Bhuli police station later that evening.
Swift Response from Child Rights Officials Ensures Rescue
Ruchi Kujur, a member of the Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, took prompt action upon learning about the missing child and immediately alerted the CWC chairman. Following her communication, CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee directed concerned authorities to initiate necessary steps for the child’s recovery.

Minor Located in Etawah, Lodged in Kanpur Shelter Home
Dhanbad Child Protection Officer Sadhna Kumari also launched efforts at the district level, which led to a breakthrough in the case. Authorities learned that the minor had been located in Etawah and was subsequently shifted to a shelter home in Kanpur. Bhuli police have been dispatched to Kanpur to bring the boy back to Dhanbad.
Second Successful Rescue in a Week
This marks the second successful rescue of a missing minor in Dhanbad within a week. Just last week, CWC and the Child Protection team had rescued a deaf and mute minor from Tamil Nadu, further highlighting the proactive efforts of Dhanbad’s child protection authorities.
