PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, June 2: As Jharkhand inches closer to the monsoon season, the weather is gradually beginning to shift, bringing signs of the upcoming rains.

According to the latest forecast, on 2nd June, light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places across the state, offering some relief from the prevailing heat and humidity.

By June 3, similar conditions may persist, although the forecast doesn’t mention any significant change.

On June 4, the chances of light rain and thundershowers become more focused over the northern and adjoining central regions of Jharkhand, indicating a localized weather pattern potentially influenced by broader atmospheric dynamics.

A trough at mean sea level currently extends from the central parts of East Uttar Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh.

This trough runs across central Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and central Assam, regions geographically and meteorologically linked with Jharkhand.

The presence of this trough can enhance moisture inflow and atmospheric instability, contributing to the formation of thundershowers over Jharkhand, especially in the north-central belt.

While the rains may be light and scattered, farmers, especially those preparing for Kharif crop sowing, can see this as an early signal of seasonal transition.

Residents are advised to stay alert for sudden thundershowers, particularly in northern districts like Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, and parts of Hazaribagh and Giridih.
