Dhanbad, June 23: Prof Radhanath Tripathi, newly appointed registrar of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU), officially assumed charge and pledged to work tirelessly for the university’s holistic development. “I will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the all-round progress of BBMKU,” he said.
Prof Tripathi, currently the Head of the Department of Political Science at Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University, becomes the second regular registrar of BBMKU since its establishment in 2017 after its separation from Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribagh.
His appointment follows a recent Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) initiative, which named regular registrars for all seven state universities earlier this month.

Priorities: Research, Innovation, and NEP Implementation
Outlining his vision for the university, Prof Tripathi emphasized the need to enhance research and innovation through improved academic activities. “Academic engagement in the university will be intensified to ultimately foster a culture of research and innovation,” he said.
He also expressed a strong commitment to the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aiming to align the university’s progress with national standards and position BBMKU on the global academic map. Tripathi, known as a seasoned academic administrator, brings years of experience to his new role.
Warm Welcome from Teachers’ Association
The BBMKU Teachers’ Association welcomed Prof Tripathi and expressed optimism about the university’s future under his leadership. General Secretary Dr Amulya Suman Beck noted that the teaching community has high expectations from the new registrar.
“We hope all pending issues concerning faculty members will be addressed. The association will extend full cooperation in implementing development programmes for the university, teachers, and students,” he said.
The assumption of charge ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Ramkumar Singh, outgoing registrar in-charge Dr Dhananjay Kumar Singh, NEP nodal officer and Head of English Department Dr Himansu Shekhar Choudhary, and the heads of all postgraduate departments.
