Dhanbad, August 7: Dr. Devina Ratnam was crowned Sawan Queen at the Sawan Mahotsav organized by the BIT Sindri Professors’ Wives Association, held at the institute’s guest house today.

The celebration also saw Sumitra Hembram winning the title of Fashion Queen, while Sanju Rohan and Savita Nayak were declared first and second runners-up, respectively.

The day-long event was filled with vibrant activities such as mehndi application, dance performances, ramp walks, games, and musical sessions, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere. Wives of faculty members, including senior professors, actively participated and added energy to the occasion.

Sujata Rai, wife of BIT Sindri Director Dr. Pankaj Rai, attended as the chief guest and praised the enthusiasm and efforts of all participants. She expressed her appreciation for the lively spirit and community bonding reflected throughout the event.

Meenakshi Sharan, Kumkum Pandey, and Meenakshi Chaudhary played key roles in organizing and ensuring the success of the Mahotsav.

On this festive occasion, participants such as Iti Verma, Prof. Rekha Jha, Hema Prasad (ADM, Law & Order, Dhanbad), and others sang traditional Sawan songs, danced, and exchanged greetings with one another.

Chief guest Sujata Rai extended her heartfelt thanks to all attendees for making the celebration a memorable and grand success.
