Jamshedpur, Sept 16: Fear gripped the Sakchi market after a woman was brazenly robbed in broad daylight on Tuesday.
The victim, who had gone for an ultrasound at a nearby diagnostic center, was targeted by three unidentified youths outside the premises.
The miscreants, under the pretext of showing her a “magic trick,” forcibly snatched her gold bangles, chain, ring, and handbag containing Rs 5,000 in cash before escaping.

Her cries for help drew passersby, who quickly alerted the police. Sakchi police reached the spot, recorded her statement, and registered a case.
An intensive hunt has been launched to identify and arrest the culprits.
The incident adds to growing concerns over the surge in robberies, murders, and dacoities in Jamshedpur.
Despite recent reshuffles of police station heads, crime remains unabated.

With Durga Puja around the corner, residents fear the rising presence of criminal gangs, particularly from outside the state, and have urged for tighter security measures.
Police have assured that strict action will be taken to restore public confidence and ensure safety.
