According to Bistupur police station in-charge Alok Kumar Dubey, Chandan Mandal—also known as Saurabh or Chandu—was the key accused who snatched the cash-filled bag from businessman Saket Agarwal.

After committing the crime, Mandal and his associates fled in a SUV to a slum in Adityapur, where they briefly halted before escaping towards Rajnagar.

At the time of his arrest, Rs 50,000 in cash—part of the stolen amount—was recovered from his possession.

Earlier, on September 12, police had arrested four other members of the gang involved in the robbery.

Interrogation of these suspects revealed the full structure of the criminal network, ultimately leading to Mandal’s arrest.

Officials stated that Chandan Mandal was one of the most active members of the gang and played the role of mastermind in planning and executing the heist.

During interrogation, he admitted to receiving Rs 5 lakh from the loot, out of which he had already spent a significant amount.

The arrest of the key conspirator is being hailed as a major success for the Jamshedpur police in cracking this high-profile loot case.
