Woman found dead in AC Coach of Ernakulam–Tata Express

Jamshedpur, Sept 27: A 31-year-old woman was found dead in an air-conditioned coach of the Ernakulam–Tata Express on Saturday morning at Tatanagar railway station.

The deceased has been identified as Anjali Mardi, a resident of Mahulia in Ghatshila, East Singhbhum district.

According to sources, Anjali was married and had been working in Andhra Pradesh. She was returning home when she reportedly fell ill during the train journey.

Railway police suspect that her death may have been caused by sudden illness.

On getting information, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem after completing formalities.

Police questioned fellow passengers, but no one could provide any specific details regarding the incident.

The body was deboarded at Tatanagar station, and the family has been informed. However, none of her family members had arrived at the station till this afternoon.

The incident created a stir among passengers onboard the train.

Railway police have launched an investigation to ascertain whether the death was purely due to illness or if any other factors were involved.
