Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh, Patron of the Bihar-Jharkhand Plastic Surgeons Association (BJPSA), said that over 80 expert surgeons from across the country will attend, along with postgraduate students from AIIMS Deoghar, RIMS Ranchi, and AIIMS Patna. “Apart from scientific discussions, we will chart out programmes to promote plastic surgery in Jharkhand and Bihar,” Dr Singh said.

Focus on strengthening plastic surgery facilities

Dr Singh noted that BJPSA has already offered voluntary assistance to the Jharkhand government to establish independent plastic surgery departments in medical college and district hospitals. Currently, only RIMS Ranchi has a separate department, while in other medical colleges, plastic surgery remains a subdivision under general surgery.
