Kolkata, Oct 10: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided multiple locations in West Bengal, including the home and offices of state Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose, as part of its probe into the alleged municipal recruitment scam.
The operation, which began early in the day, covered 11 sites linked to Bose and several associated entities.
The case stems from an FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after the Calcutta High Court, acting on an ED application, observed that the alleged recruitment scam went beyond appointments in schools and extended to municipal bodies across the state.

The controversy first surfaced during the probe into the West Bengal school jobs scam, when investigators discovered documents tied to municipal recruitment from the premises of accused Ayan Sil.
In April 2023, the High Court directed the CBI to examine irregularities in municipal hiring, leading to parallel investigations by both the ED and CBI.
Earlier, searches had also been carried out at the homes of Sujit Bose and Food and Supplies Minister Rathin Ghosh in connection with the same case.
