Jamshedpur, Oct 16: The Adityapur Auto Cluster took a decisive step toward sustainable industrial growth by hosting a sensitisation workshop on Green Audit under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
The initiative was supported by the Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand, through the Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA).
The workshop organised on Wednesday aimed to encourage industries in the Adityapur region to adopt eco-friendly practices, minimise their carbon footprint, and progress toward the vision of ‘Net Zero’ emissions.
Inder Agarwal, president of Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA), called upon industrial units to undertake Green Audits to foster a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable ecosystem.

He stressed that environmental responsibility must be shared collectively across the industrial landscape.
S.N. Thakur, managing director of the Adityapur Auto Cluster, underscored the growing importance of efficient waste management and detailed the cluster’s advanced facilities for hazardous and liquid waste treatment.
He noted that responsible industrial practices are key to balancing growth with ecological preservation.
Prem Ranjan, Regional Director, JIADA, elaborated on the process, advantages, and financial assistance available under the RAMP Programme, which provides up to Rs 30,000 per unit for Green Audits.
He announced that JIADA will soon empanel accredited audit firms to guide industries through the process transparently.
A team of consultants from JIADA presented the audit framework, eligibility norms, and subsidy mechanisms.

The technical session, led by Dr. Tiwari from Ranchi, offered practical insights into audit methodologies, compliance strategies, and ways to align industrial operations with national sustainability goals.
The workshop drew participation from over 150 representatives of nearly 800 industrial units within the Adityapur Auto Cluster.
It concluded with a lively Q&A session.
