Jharkhand News: Karim City College holds workshop on Intellectual Property Rights

 

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Karim City College’s Innovation Council recently organized a workshop on intellectual property rights (IPR), aiming to create awareness among faculty and students in line with UGC guidelines and NAAC accreditation requirements.

Chartered accountants Akbar Ali and Waqasur Rahman served as resource persons, providing participants with detailed insights into intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The program began with a presentation and introduction by Dr. Zahid Parvez, Coordinator of IPR Activities and member of the Commerce Faculty.

Dr. Mohammad Riaz welcomed the guests with bouquets and mementos and delivered the opening address. Speaking at the event, Dr. Neha Tiwari, President of the Innovation Council, highlighted the Council’s inception and objectives.

Waqasur Rahman elaborated on the need for IPR, its types, and the proper format for registration, emphasizing that knowledge of these laws has become essential for innovators. Akbar Ali further discussed the practical importance of IPR in protecting creative work and fostering innovation.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by student Raunak Kumar. Several faculty members and students from multiple departments participated, gaining valuable insights into intellectual property rights and their relevance in today’s innovation-driven world.
