Patna, Nov 11: Polling for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 began at 7 am across 122 constituencies in 20 districts of the state.
In this final phase of voting, a total of 1,302 candidates are in the fray, including former Deputy Chief Ministers Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad, as well as Congress leader Ajit Sharma.
The Election Commission has set up 45,399 polling stations, of which 40,073 are located in rural areas. Around 8,491 booths have been identified as sensitive, where additional security forces have been deployed and special monitoring arrangements are in place.

Bihar witnessed energetic voter participation in the second phase of the Assembly elections, with the state recording an overall turnout of 31.38 per cent till 11 am, according to data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Kishanganj district emerged at the top with 34.74 per cent polling, reflecting strong voter enthusiasm, while Madhubani registered the lowest turnout at 28.66 per cent. Several districts, including Gaya (34.07%), Jamui (33.69%), Aurangabad (32.88%), Banka (32.91%), Purnia (32.94%) and Paschim Champaran (32.39%), reported brisk polling through the morning hours.
In the mid-range turnout bracket, Kaimur (31.98%), Araria (31.88%), Supaul (31.69%), Sheohar (31.58%), Purvi Champaran (31.16%) and Arwal (31.07%) showed steady participation. On the other hand, Jahanabad (30.36%), Katihar (30.83%), Sitamarhi (29.81%), Rohtas (29.80%), Bhagalpur (29.08%) and Nawada (29.02%) lagged slightly behind the state average.

Among key constituencies, Kutumba (33.40%), Dhamdaha (33.22%), Mohania (32.91%), and Chainpur (32.31%) witnessed healthy polling, while Sasaram (29.84%), Harsiddhi (29.99%), Supaul (31.10%), and Jhanjharpur (26.76%) recorded relatively lower voter activity. Notably, Gaya Town reported only 25.02 per cent turnout, one of the lowest figures so far.
