Jharkhand News: DBMS English School hosts annual English elocution contest

 

Jamshedpur, Nov 11: DBMS English School, Jamshedpur, hosted its Annual English Recitation, Elocution, Prose, and Declamation Contest on Tuesday celebrating eloquence, expression, and the art of public speaking.

The event provided a platform for students from KG II to Std. XII to showcase their oratory and interpretative skills. Students presented a variety of poems, prose pieces, and speeches on diverse themes.

The panel of judges comprised Parvinder Bhatia, Jamshedpur Bureau Head of The Pioneer; Siddhartha Sen, a Cost Accountant and English Literature enthusiast known for his contribution to dramatics and performing arts; and Rituparna Chattoraj, Head of the English Department, JUSCO School, Kadma. The judges praised the participants for their impressive performances and offered valuable insights into the nuances of public speaking.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chairpersons B. Chandrashekhar and Lalitha Chandrashekhar; Secretary, Archana Ramesh; Treasurer, Lalitha Seshadri; Principal, Rajani Shekhar; and Vice-Principal, P. K. Sahu, who congratulated the winners and encouraged all students to continue nurturing their communication skills.

In the results, the winners for KG II and Std. I category were Std. I B, while the runners-up were Std. II E. In the Std. II and III group, Std. III D emerged winners and Std. II D were runners-up.

For Std. IV and V, the winner was Sunidhi Chouhan, the first runner-up was Shashwati Das, and the second runner-up was Laavya Jawanpuria, while a memento of encouragement was awarded to Shreenika Chandra.

In the Std. VI, VII, and VIII category, Amantrita Paul won the first place, followed by Raviksha Mishra and Adriza Banerjee, with mementos of encouragement going to Aqsa Sarosh, Inaya Malhotra, Aadrik Ganguly, and Rishabh.

Among Std. IX and X students, the winner was Shreyash Kumar, the first runner-up was Aditi Kar, and the second runner-up was Khushi Maheshwari, while Avneet Kaur Dogra received a memento of encouragement.

In the senior-most category, Std. XI and XII, Rishit secured the first position, Abhishek Pathak was the first runner-up, and Deonita Mahato was the second runner-up, while Jiggyasa Chatterjee received a memento of encouragement.
