Patna, Nov 11: Bihar witnessed an impressive voter participation in the second phase of the Assembly elections on Tuesday, with a turnout of 67.14 per cent recorded till 5 pm, as per figures released by the Election Commission.
Polling for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 concluded across 122 constituencies in 20 districts of the state.
In this final phase of voting, a total of 1,302 candidates are in the fray, including former Deputy Chief Ministers Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad, as well as Congress leader Ajit Sharma.

The Election Commission has set up 45,399 polling stations, of which 40,073 are located in rural areas. Around 8,491 booths have been identified as sensitive, where additional security forces have been deployed and special monitoring arrangements are in place.
High turnout districts
Kishanganj led the state with a remarkable 76.26 per cent turnout, followed by 75.23 per cent in Katihar and 73.79 per cent in Purnia, showcasing strong voter enthusiasm in the Seemanchal region. Other districts like Supaul (70.69 per cent) and Banka (68.91 per cent) also reported robust polling figures.
Moderate participation in other areas
In contrast, Nawada recorded a comparatively lower turnout of 57.11 per cent, while Rohtas (60.09 per cent) and Madhubani (61.79 per cent) also saw moderate participation. Meanwhile, Paschim Champaran (69.02 per cent), Gaya (67.50 per cent), and Kaimur (67.22 per cent) reflected strong engagement from voters.

Key constituencies witness mixed response
Among the major constituencies, Dhamdaha saw one of the highest turnouts at 74.20 per cent, while Harsiddhi (70.98 per cent) and Chainpur (67.41 per cent) followed closely. On the other hand, Gaya Town (58.43 per cent) and Jhanjharpur (57.73 per cent) registered relatively lower polling numbers.
Overall, the second phase of polling across Bihar demonstrated a vibrant voter response, with most districts maintaining turnout levels above 65 per cent, reflecting sustained public interest in the electoral process.
