Giridih, Nov 12: Shantanu Sharma of Seraikela clinched the men’s singles title at the Yonex Sunrise Jharkhand State Senior Badminton Championship held in Giridih.
In the men’s singles final, Sharma defeated Suraj Pratap Singh of Jamshedpur to reaffirm his dominance in state-level badminton. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Sharma overcame Krish Dubey of Jamshedpur 21-15, 21-13, while Suraj Pratap Singh defeated Yuvraj Kumar of Ranchi 21-10, 20-22, 21-06 to secure his place in the final.
Krish Dubey claimed third place by beating Yuvraj Kumar in the playoff match.

Women’s Doubles Title Clinched by Yogita and Sonali
Earlier, the duo of Yogita Bora and Sonali Dubey of Deoghar lifted the women’s doubles trophy, defeating Anamika Ghosh of Dhanbad and Shristi Suman of Deoghar in the final.
Ranchi Duo Wins Mixed Doubles
In mixed doubles, the Ranchi pair of Manisha Rani Tirkey and Vinay Singh emerged victorious, defeating the Gumla duo of Ananya Singh and Priyanshu Tirkey in the final.

Women’s Singles Final Tonight
In the women’s singles category, Sarah Sharma of Jamshedpur will face Yogita Bora of Ranchi in the final scheduled for tonight. In the semi-finals, Sarah defeated Ananya Singh of Ranchi 21-13, 21-09, while Yogita outplayed Himani Oraon of Gumla 21-10, 21-09.
