Dhanbad, Nov 26: The BIT Sindri 1975 batch alumni celebrated their golden jubilee with a series of events and announced a major bonanza for students and the institute, renewing their commitment to support future generations.
The organisers said alumni from the 1975 batch, coming from across India and abroad, visited the campus for a day-long celebration and shared memories from 50 years ago. The entire campus echoed with their joy and laughter.
Nostalgic Walk Through the Campus
The celebration began with a nostalgic campus walk, where alumni revisited their old departments, hostels, and classrooms.
They expressed happiness at the improved and renovated infrastructure of the institute over the last five decades.

The day-long programme blended emotional reunions with a strong resolve to give back to their alma mater.
Prayaas 75: Scholarships, Loans, Mentorship
During the event, the batch reviewed the achievements of Prayaas 75, an initiative offering:

Scholarships up to ₹60,000 each to 42 students (2018–2022 batches)

Interest-free loans of ₹50,000–₹1,25,000 for four students for financial or international needs like MITACS

High-end MacBook Pro laptops loaned to two students for AI/ML work

Mentorship and funding for small projects of ten students
The 1975 batch pledged to expand Prayaas 75, setting new goals for scholarships, innovation grants, infrastructure support, and industry mentorship.
Warm Welcome by BIT Sindri Leadership
BIT Sindri director Prof. Pankaj Rai, Training and Placement Officer and CDC chairman Prof. Ghanshyam, Prof. R.K. Verma, and heads of various engineering departments welcomed the golden jubilarians warmly.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Rai praised the alumni’s dedication.
“The 1975 batch has set a gold standard – not just in their professional achievements but in their commitment to the next generation of BITians,” he said.
