Jamshedpur, Dec 22: In view of the Christmas festivities and the New Year celebrations, the Jamshedpur Bar Association has declared a nine-day winter recess for courts in the city.
As per the decision, court work will conclude on December 23, after which courts will remain closed from December 24 to January 1, 2026.

Ahead of the recess, advocates are actively working on December 22 and 23 to dispose of urgent cases and complete essential judicial work.

Special emphasis is being laid on time-bound and important matters to ensure that the burden of pending cases does not increase once the courts reopen in the New Year.
The announcement has brought visible relief and satisfaction among members of the legal fraternity.
Lawyers have welcomed the decision, describing the break as a timely pause that allows them to observe the festive season while also helping the judicial system resume smoothly after the holidays.

Regular court proceedings are expected to recommence in the first week of January, with cases being taken up as per the scheduled listings.
