PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, April 10:
Jharkhand is set to witness a spell of intense heat, with temperatures likely to rise by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius over the next four days, marking the beginning of a harsher summer phase across the state.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), maximum temperatures currently range between 30°C and 34°C but are expected to increase steadily in the coming days.

Weather Systems Driving Heat

Meteorological conditions indicate an east–west trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh to Manipur, passing through eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Bangladesh, up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation over Odisha at around 0.9 km above mean sea level is influencing the region’s weather.

Clear skies and dry conditions are likely to prevail, with no significant rainfall expected. This will further accelerate the rise in temperatures.

Precautions Advised

Residents are advised to prepare for hotter days and avoid heat exposure during peak afternoon hours to prevent heat-related stress.
