Ranchi, April 15: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Finance Department of the Government of Jharkhand and Indian Bank at the Jharkhand Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The agreement covers a Salary Account Package for state government employees and a Salary Account and HRIS package for employees of the National Health Mission (NHM), aiming to provide enhanced banking facilities and financial security.
Focus on Financial Security and Employee Welfare
The MoU is designed to strengthen financial support systems for government and NHM employees. Two key agreements were signed, incorporating special facilities under the salary account package and additional benefits for NHM personnel.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasised the importance of banks in the state’s development, stating that they must act as partners in ensuring inclusive growth.
“Banks should fulfill their role as partners in the development of the state,” he said.
Major Boost for Health Workers
The Chief Minister noted that thousands of health workers, especially those working under NHM, will benefit from this initiative. He highlighted that the package would enhance financial security and boost morale among healthcare workers who often work in high-risk environments.
He also stressed the importance of providing insurance coverage and financial protection to enable them to perform their duties without fear.
CM Recalls COVID-19 Challenges
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister said it was a global health crisis that caused immense loss of life and exposed vulnerabilities in healthcare systems.
He pointed out that health-related challenges continue to affect families, particularly those from middle-class and economically weaker sections, underlining the need for strong institutional support.
Push for Digital Banking Expansion
The Chief Minister also highlighted the growing importance of digital infrastructure, stating that banking services will become more accessible across sectors in the coming years.
He urged employees of the Health Department and NHM to take full advantage of the benefits offered under the MoU.
The event was attended by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajay Kumar Singh, Finance Secretary Prashant Kumar, and Indian Bank MD & CEO Binod Kumar, along with other officials.
