Addressing the function, General Secretary of Punjabi Hindu Biradari Mahesh Marwah said that Sanjhi Lohri means collective Lohri, an ancient Punjab festival.
He said that about 25 years ago, the Lohri festival was celebrated separately by the families of the members of the fraternity. It was observed in homes, so it was impossible to reach every home to congratulate the people who received happiness. That is why the Punjabi Hindu community started Sanjhi Lohri 25 years ago, he added.
