Dhanbad, Dec 13: The five vice-president candidates out of six have formed a group and launched a joint poll campaign to grab all five posts of vice-president in Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad Teachers Association election to be held on December 20.
The election will be held only for five posts of vice president as president, general secretary, secretaries (5) and treasurer have already been elected unopposed.
Who are G-5 members?
Five vice-president candidates who have made the group are Dr Anamika Kujur (RSP College Jharia), Dr Avinash Kumar (RS More College Govindpur), Dr Kiroom Rashmi Topno (PK Roy Memorial College), Dr Manohar Majhi (KB College Bermo) and Dr Ram Pravesh (Chas College Chas).
The sixth candidate for the vice-president post is Dr Sharmishtha Acharya ( Sindri College Sindri). Dr Sharmishtha Acharya is campaigning at her level along with other teachers and supporters.

Dr Neetisha Khalkho, secretary, BSK College Maithon who is leading a joint poll campaign of five candidates, today admitted that a group of five has been formed to contest together. They have a joint agenda to do for the welfare of teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

“The group of five teachers campaigned at Bermo College Bermo (65 km away from University headquarters), Katras College Katras ( 20 km away) on Tuesday.
The total number of voters in the election is 173. If the group of five can manage 100% support of their institutions, they will get total votes 65 ( PK Roy Memorial College- 18) Chas College Chas -14), BSK College Maithon -12), RS More College -12) and RSP College-9).

Sixth candidate
6th candidate Sharmishtha Acharya’s Sindri College Sindri has 10 voters but she is banking on the votes of Postgraduate departments ( 51) and other colleges.
Outgoing general secretary Dr Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary and Dr BN Singh, who enjoy the massive support of teachers, have not announced their support for any candidate so far. “It is a democratic process. Whoever wins should work in the interest of teachers,” said Dr Choudhary.
