Dhanbad, Dec 8: Four candidates today withdrew their nominations in the Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA) poll paving the way for election to be held only for the 5 posts of vice-president on December 20.

Those who withdrew their nominations included Dr D K Singh, political science department BS City College Bokaro, Dr Sumita Khalkho, BSK College Maithon,  Dr Masuque Ahmed, Urdu postgraduate department and Dr Joygopal Mandal.

Chief election officer Prof ( retired ) Dr SKL Das and Coordinator Dr KM Singh said that for the 5 posts of vice-presidents,  6 candidates are left in the race. So an election will be held.

Candidates left in the race

For the post of president: Dr DK Singh, chemistry Post graduate department, vice-president: Dr Sarmistha Acharya, Sindri College Sindri, Dr Avinash Kumar, RS More College  Govindpur, Dr Manohar Majhi  KB College Bermo, Dr Kirom Rashmi Topno, PK Roy Memorial College Anamika Kujur, RSP College and .

General secretary: Dr Amulya Suman Beck, mathematics post-graduate department, Secretary-  Dr Veenita Soreng, SSLNT Women’s College, Dr Priyanjana Hansda, BSK College Maithon,  Alisha Vandna Lakra, KB College Bermo, Dr  David Murmu, Chas College Chas, Dr Ashutosh Rahul Tirki, PK Roy Memorial College.

Meanwhile, Dr Ashok Mandal and Dr  Kirom Rashmi Topna were elected president and general secretary respectively of  PK Roy Memorial College  Teachers Association on Thursday.

Dr  Ashok Rahul Tirki and Dr Manoj Kumar were also elected unanimously vice-president and associate secretary respectively, while Dr M A Ansari became the new treasurer.  An official of the outgoing committee said that newly elected office-bearers would vote in university teachers association poll.
