Patna, April 8: A major decision was taken today in Bihar as the CM Nitish Kumar led Cabinet approved the revision of salaries and allowances for state ministers and deputy ministers.

According to the approved changes, the salary of ministers has been increased from ₹50,000 to ₹65,000, and the regional allowance has been raised from ₹55,000 to ₹70,000.

The daily allowance has been revised from ₹3,000 to ₹3,500, while the hospitality allowance has gone up from ₹24,000 to ₹29,500. Additionally, the official travel allowance has been increased from ₹15 per kilometer to ₹25 per kilometer.

As per reports, a total of 27 proposals were approved in today’s Cabinet meeting. This includes the creation of 2,590 posts in the Agriculture Department and 48 posts in the Prohibition Department.
The Cabinet also sanctioned 35 posts for data entry operators in the Staff Selection Commission. Approval was also granted for the Bihar Education Administration Rules 2025.
