A country-made pistol was recovered from Ghosh’s possession. Following a complaint by Sita Soren, an FIR was lodged against Ghosh, and he is being produced in court.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the altercation between Sita Soren and Ghosh was related to a dispute over the misuse of funds during the last Jharkhand assembly elections. During the heated argument, Ghosh brandished the pistol at her.
DSP Nausad Alam also noted that security lapses were identified in the incident, and the police are investigating the matter further. He mentioned that Sita Soren’s staff was aware that Debashish Ghosh often carried a country-made pistol.
Sita Soren arrived in Dhanbad on Thursday evening to attend a wedding ceremony in the Katras area of the Baghmara block. After the event, she returned to the Sonotel Hotel in the Saraidhela area for the night where the incident took place. Reports indicate that Devashish Ghosh was driving her car.
