New Delhi, June 5: In connection with the excise policy/ liquor scam money laundering case, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court rejected Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s interim bail request on Wednesday, which sought a seven-day bail on medical grounds.
The court, in its dismissal of the plea, instructed the Tihar Jail Authorities to carry out necessary medical examinations and provide treatment to Arvind Kejriwal, the applicant.
On the other hand, the court also prolonged Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody until June 19, 2024. Kejriwal appeared before the court via virtual mode.

On June 1, the court had deferred its ruling on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea, keeping the order reserved.
The court has scheduled June 7 to consider Kejriwal’s application for default bail in the case.
Following the directives of the Supreme Court, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal voluntarily surrendered himself at Tihar Jail on June 2.
The Supreme Court had granted Arvind Kejriwal interim bail for 21 days on May 10 for election campaigning, and his bail period ended on June 2.
