DPS Ranchi: 9 schools qualify for CBSE national-level science exhibition

Ranchi, Dec. 22: The CBSE regional level Science Exhibition, organised by CBSE and hosted at DPS Ranchi, displayed scientific innovation and creativity.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 41 schools across the Patna Region (Jharkhand State only). The exhibition, held on December 22-23, showcased the scientific endeavours of students in two categories: Classes VI to VIII and Classes IX to XI. The participants explored diverse themes, reflecting the breadth and depth of scientific curiosity.

The five themes for the exhibition included Health, LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Agriculture, Communication and Transport and Computational Thinking.

Of the 41 participating schools, 9 emerged as winners, qualifying for the National Level of the exhibition, scheduled to be held in Delhi.

In Classes VI to VIII category, Sido Kanhu High School, Dumka in ‘Agriculture’ theme, Bhagmani Chandravansi Public School, Palamu in ‘Communication and Transport’ theme, Swami Shradhanand DAV Centenary Public School, Khunti, Ranchi in ‘Health’ theme and Surendranath Centenary School, Ranchi in ‘LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment) theme emerged as winners.

Classes IX to XI category

In Classes IX to XI category, Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi in ‘Agriculture’ theme, Delhi Public School, Dhanbad in ‘Communication and Transport’ theme, Surendranath Centenary School, Ranchi in ‘Health’ theme, Nirja Sahay DAV Public School, Ranchi in ‘LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment)’ and Delhi Public School, Ranchi in ‘Computational Thinking’ theme emerged as winners. These schools demonstrated exceptional prowess in addressing the exhibition’s themes and meeting the stringent assessment criteria.

Notably, the exhibits were rigorously assessed based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including Creativity and Imagination, Originality and Innovation, Scientific thought, principles and approach, technical skills, workmanship, craftmanship, educational value, scalability and utility for society in the future, Economic (low cost), Probability and Durability, and Presentation effectiveness of display and relevant explanations.

Dr. Ram Singh, Principal, DPS Ranchi -cum- City Coordinator of Ranchi Zone, commending the collaborative spirit among the participating schools, said, “The exhibition is an excellent example of active learning, a cornerstone for successful learning that grooms children to be future-ready learners for life. These academic activities are wonderful tools that engage all students and teachers in learning new facts and help them develop curiosity to learn more using knowledge and bringing out the best”.
