Ranchi, Feb 27: Former Jharkhand Chief Secretary L. Khiangte has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). The state government had proposed his name, and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar promptly approved the appointment on Thursday.
The Governor expressed hope that this appointment would accelerate the recruitment process in the state, ensuring that all examinations conducted by the commission adhere to a scheduled calendar in a timely and efficient manner. He also emphasized that the commission’s functioning would become more transparent and dynamic.

Notably, the position of JPSC Chairman had been vacant for six months. Following the retirement of Dr. Mary Neelima Kerketta on August 22, 2024, no appointment had been made. However, after a prolonged wait, the new JPSC Chairman has now been appointed.
