Jamshedpur, Oct 15: The District Election Officer (DEO) of East Singhbhum, under the directives of the Election Commission of India, has announced that all polling personnel and security staff engaged in the upcoming 45–Ghatsila (ST) Assembly By-Election 2025 will be provided cashless medical treatment in case of any sudden illness or accident.

A key meeting was held at the collectorate building here today under the chairmanship of DEO–cum– Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.

Senior officials from both government and private hospitals participated, along with Rural SP Rishabh Garg, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, and representatives from the district health committee, block hospitals, community health centers, and private hospitals.

Addressing the gathering, the DEO emphasized that the health and safety of every polling and security personnel is a top priority for the district administration.

He instructed all hospitals, both public and private, to ensure immediate provision of cashless medical treatment in any emergency situation.

Dr. Sahir Pal, Civil Surgeon, was directed to ensure that hospitals are adequately staffed with doctors, medical resources, and medicines during the election period.

All hospitals have been put on 24×7 emergency alert mode and are required to co-ordinate directly with the district control room and the health department.

Bills for the cashless treatment provided will be submitted to the district administration, which will process payment as per departmental procedures.

The DEO also warned that any negligence or lapses in providing this facility will invite strict action against the concerned hospital or staff.

This initiative is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted polling operations while prioritizing the well-being of those serving at the frontline during the by-election scheduled on November 11.
