Ranchi, March 16: The recent violence in Giridih has triggered a political storm in Jharkhand, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) engaging in a fierce war of words. While BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi accused the Hemant Soren government of being “anti-Hindu” and biased against the victims, the JMM hit back, alleging that the BJP is fuelling communal tensions for political gains.

BJP’s Allegations: ‘Anti-Hindu Bias in FIR’
BJP state president Babulal Marandi took to social media to accuse the Hemant Soren-led government of targeting Hindus under the guise of maintaining law and order. He claimed that his apprehensions were confirmed when the FIR in the Giridih violence case appeared to be a “pre-planned blueprint” to blame Hindus for the incident.

Marandi alleged that the FIR was scripted to shield the actual culprits while falsely implicating the victimized Hindu community. He further accused the state government of appeasement politics, stating that Hindus were being punished simply for celebrating Holi under the Congress-JMM rule. According to him, this approach has emboldened miscreants to carry out similar attacks in the future.

JMM’s Counterattack: ‘BJP Fuelling Communal Tensions’
In response, JMM Central General Secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey dismissed BJP’s allegations, accusing the party of trying to exploit the situation for political gain. He asserted that the district administration acted swiftly to control the violence and prevent further unrest.
Pandey claimed that BJP leaders, including Marandi, were attempting to incite the public and pressure the administration for political advantage. He alleged that the BJP has no vision for the state’s development and only engages in divisive politics by stoking religious and communal sentiments.
Furthermore, Pandey defended the government’s handling of law and order, emphasizing that Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s administration is committed to maintaining peace and taking strict action against those disrupting harmony. He criticized BJP for neglecting the welfare of farmers, labourers, tribals, and minorities, arguing that their focus remains solely on benefiting the capitalist class.
