Hail, thundershowers alert in isolated parts of Jharkhand today

Jamshedpur, March 20: Hail accompanied with thundershowers, lightning and gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) is expected at isolated places over southern and adjoining central parts of the state today.

Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) is also likely to occur at isolated places over northern parts of the state today.

According to the forecast, tomorrow (March 21) hail accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind (max wind speed: 50-60 kmph) is expected at isolated places over southern and adjoining central parts of the state.

Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) is also predicted at isolated places over northern central parts of the state tomorrow.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued nowcast weather alert today in several parts of Jharkhand including East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Dumka and Jamtara.

The maximum temperature in Ranchi and its adjoining areas was hovering around 34-35 degrees Celsius while in Jamshedpur the maximum temperature was around 37 degrees Celsius.

In Daltonganj the maximum temperature was around 36 degrees Celsius.

Chaibasa in the neighbouring West Singhbhum district recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature of 38.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
