Dubai, July 9: Jasprit Bumrah, the hero of India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign, gained another accolade on Tuesday when he was awarded the “ICC Men’s Player of the Month for June.”
India women’s team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was also awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month. For her stellar role in India’s ODI series victory over South Africa last month, Mandhana received her first-ever ICC Women’s Player of the Month accolade.

Bumrah won the men’s award, surpassing fellow Indian Rohit Sharma and Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Afghanistan, while Mandhana clinched the women’s award, edging out England’s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lanka’s Vishmi Gunaratne.
Bumrah was also the Man of the Tournament in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. He took 15 wickets in the tournament averaging 8.26 at an economy rate of 4.17.
On the other hand, Mandhana scored 117 (127) in the first match, 136 (120) in the second, and 90 (83) in the last match of the ODI series against South Africa women’s team.
