The SSP also warned that if the ongoing investigation establishes the involvement or negligence of any other police officer or personnel, strict departmental action will be taken in accordance with the law.

“Accountability remains paramount in the police force, and negligence at any level will not be tolerated,” he said.

Police officials said the inquiry is continuing and that further departmental as well as legal action will be decided after the investigation report is submitted. They described the suspensions as a significant step towards reinforcing discipline and accountability within the force.

Victim dies, protests break out

Meanwhile, tensions escalated in Bistupur after Himanshu Singh succumbed to his injuries at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Monday evening.

Following his death, angry protesters, including members of Singh’s family, blocked the Bistupur roundabout near the Regal Building late Monday night. Demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest of all the accused and stringent action against those involved in the fatal attack outside the night bar.

Police maintained a vigil in the area to prevent any escalation of the situation while the investigation into the murder continues.
