Ranchi, May 23: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials and members of the Baba Baidyanath Dham-Basukinath Shrine Area Development Authority to assess preparations for the world-renowned State Shravani Mela 2025, scheduled to begin on July 11. The meeting was held at Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration in Ranchi.

Emphasizing the timely completion of all arrangements, the Chief Minister said the Shravani Mela attracts lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad, making it essential to ensure their safety and comfort.

Aiming for a Grand and Devotional Event
Highlighting the cultural and spiritual importance of the Mela, the Chief Minister said, “Shravani Mela is a symbol of our faith and has given Jharkhand a special identity on the global stage. Every year, lakhs of devotees visit Baba Nagri. This year, we expect around 50 lakh pilgrims. We must make sure they leave with a positive experience.”
He also directed officials to add new elements to enhance the grandeur of the event and assured that all necessary resources would be provided.

Coordination Among Departments Stressed
Soren instructed all departments to work in coordination to finalize arrangements related to safety, cleanliness, rest areas, drinking water, electricity, toilets, bathing facilities, traffic, and healthcare. He also directed the Chief Secretary to closely monitor departmental preparations.

Use of Vacant Land Along Mela Route
The Chief Minister suggested utilizing vacant land along the Mela route, with the consent of landowners, for temporary facilities like rest houses, toilets, and bathing areas. He directed that the land be properly cleaned and returned to owners after the conclusion of the Mela. He also instructed separate arrangements for accommodation and meals for women and children.
Crowd Control and Traffic Management
Soren emphasized strengthening crowd control and traffic systems at Baba Baidyanath Dham and Basukinath Dham, where lakhs of devotees gather. He instructed deployment of adequate security personnel and strict enforcement of vehicle speed limits.

The Chief Minister also directed installation of high-definition vehicle number plate reading cameras to help identify traffic violators.

QR-Based Complaint System to Address Devotee Grievances
To address pilgrims’ complaints effectively, the Chief Minister directed officials to implement a QR-based complaint system, allowing immediate registration and prompt resolution of issues.
Several other important instructions regarding fair management were also issued during the meeting.
The review meeting was attended by Minister Sudivya Kumar, MLAs Suresh Paswan and Devendra Kunwar, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretaries Mast Ram Meena and Vandana Dadel, DGP Anurag Gupta, Secretary Manoj Kumar, senior officials, and members of the Shrine Development Authority.
