Jamshedpur, June 21: Jharkhand finally got rid of the heat wave condition which continued for three weeks at a stretch.

Thanks to the rain which brought the day’s reading down by several notches.

Today’s forecast indicated heavy rainfall at isolated places over north-eastern and south-eastern parts of the state.

Tomorrow, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over the state.

Heavy rain forecast is also issued for isolated places over north-eastern parts of the state on June 23.

Monsoon Update

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Northwest Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon was today passing through Amravati, Gondia, Durg, Rampur, Malda, Bhagalpur and Raxaul.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of the north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, some parts of Jharkhand, some more parts of Bihar and some parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh during next three days.

Synoptic Features

A cyclonic circulation lies over east Bihar and the neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Assam at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
