Ranchi, Feb 25: Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta has made a significant disclosure in the JAC Board Matric exam paper leak case. He confirmed that the leak originated from Giridih, where an individual used a blade to cut open the sealed question paper packet, made photocopies, and circulated them online.

The prime conspirator has been arrested, and interrogation is underway. Police expect further revelations as the investigation progresses.

Investigation & Arrests
The probe has led to raids at coaching centres in Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh, and Garhwa, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. Authorities have vowed strict action against those responsible.

Following a registered case at the Markacho Police Station, special police teams were deployed under the Superintendent of Police, Koderma. Continuous monitoring by the Police Headquarters led to a breakthrough when Rohit Kumar was arrested from New Barganda, Giridih, at midnight on 24-25 February 2025. His confession led to the arrest of five more suspects.

How the Leak Happened
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were hired as labourers to unload the question paper consignments in Giridih. They cut open the sealed packets, extracted the papers, created PDFs, and leaked them online.
Police seized six mobile phones containing the leaked 10th-grade Science question paper, which is now under verification. Additionally, the blanket and mat used to conceal the stolen papers were recovered, as they appeared in leaked PDF images.

Police Task Force Behind the Crackdown
The investigation was led by:
- Anil Kumar Singh – Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Koderma
- Ratibaan Singh – Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Koderma
- Other senior officers and technical branch personnel
With the investigation ongoing, authorities are determined to bring all culprits to justice and prevent further leaks.
