1598 passengers caught ticketless in 24-hour drive in Dhanbad Railway Division

Dhanbad, June 20: Altogether 1598 passengers were caught travelling without ticket (WT) in a 24-hour  special drive conducted at different stations of Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Rail (ECR) zone.

Senior  Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) cum senior public relation officer  Amresh Kumar said that under special drive  ticket checking was conducted indifferent  rail sections of the division and stations like Dhanbad, Gomoh, Chandrapura, Koderma, Daltonganj, Chopan, Barkakana, Singrauli.

In the checking  in mail and express trains  1598 passengers were caught  without ticket, unauthorised  travelling and  with goods (luggage) without booking. “Total amount of over Rs 8.38 lakh was realized  from them as fine”, said  Amresh Kumar, Sr DCM of the Division.

The Sr DCM said a total of 160 ticket  checking  staff were deployed in this 24 hours special campaign. He said the campaign would continue in different rail sections of Dhanbad Rail Division and  major stations.

“The Main aim of this special drive is to keep control on  without ticket travellers so that they  can travel with ticket in future and .  Action on unauthorised   travellers  would also make the journey of  bonafide  passengers comfortable,” he  said.
