Chaibasa, April 22: BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Singhbhum constituency, Geeta Koda filed her nomination papers on Monday. She filed her nomination in two sets.

Before filing her nomination, Geeta Koda offered prayers at Desauli temple in Gitilipi. After offering prayers, Geeta Koda reached Gandhi Maidan in Chaibasa, where a large number of workers had gathered to accompany her. From there, BJP leaders and workers reached Khuntakti Maidan in the form of a procession.

After this, they went to the office of the District Returning Officer along with BJP state president Babulal Marandi. She filed her nomination before the District Returning Officer at 1.40 pm.

On the occasion, state BJP president Babulal Marandi, spokesperson JB Tubid, Geeta Balmuchu and a large number of leaders and workers were present.

Notably, Geeta Koda will have a direct contest against JMM senior leader and former minister Joba Manjhi in Singhbhum. Joba will file nomination on April 23.

Sitting MP of Singhbhum, Geeta Koda has recently joined the BJP. Her husband Madhu Koda is the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
