Jamshedpur, April 19: A 55-year-old businessman was shot at by two bike-borne criminals near his shop at Kandra market under the Kandra thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Saturday afternoon.

The gun attack was launched after the businessman, Sanjay Burman, had refused to bow down before the criminals’ extortion call.

The victim has sustained two bullet injuries — one in the left leg and another in the left thigh. He has been rushed to the Tata Main Hospital, where he is being operated upon.

Police Investigating Leads from CCTV and Phone Records

Moreover, we also have a clue to the criminals involved in the shooting incident from the extortion call made on the victim’s mobile phone. But we have to take a statement from the victim who is presently undergoing treatment at the Tata Main Hospital,” said Murmu while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
The OC claimed they would detect the criminals involved in the shooting shortly.

Despite Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Mukesh Lunayat making all efforts to curb the criminal incidents, the criminals seem to have thrown a challenge before the police by opening fire on a businessman in broad daylight.
