Daltonganj, April 19: These days, the medical fraternity in Daltonganj is abuzz with speculation over who will be appointed as the next Civil Surgeon of Palamu.

Speculations are rife that the current Civil Surgeon, Dr. Anil Kumar, may be transferred to Ranchi. If that happens, the post will fall vacant, sparking widespread curiosity about which doctor will be chosen to fill the role.

Lobbying and Uncertainty Intensify

For now, it remains anyone’s guess—fueling what many here are calling a “hundred-dollar question.”

Everyone seems to have their own pick for the next Civil Surgeon, but The Jharkhand Story has chosen not to speculate or mention any names in the running. What appears certain, however, is that the current Civil Surgeon is likely to make way for a successor.

According to sources, intense lobbying is underway for the coveted post in Palamu. Not a day goes by without fresh gossips—whispers that the transfer file has moved from one office to another.

Transfer Buzz Beyond Palamu

The guessing game doesn’t end there; there’s also speculation about the number of doctors set to be transferred—six, seven, or eight. No one knows for sure.

As for which district or Civil Surgeon will be affected by the upcoming transfers, no one has a definitive answer—only guesses, often attributed to “sources close to the decision-makers.”

Eyes on CM’s Return From Foreign Trip

Traditionally, April hasn’t been a typical month for Civil Surgeon transfers in Jharkhand. In the past, such administrative reshuffles have usually occurred in the last week of July.

However, this year, the buzz around transfers has unexpectedly intensified in April, stirring speculation throughout the corridors of the state’s health department.

With talk of transfers possibly happening at any moment, all eyes are now on Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s return from his foreign trip. Until then, doctors and hopeful aspirants continue to size up their chances of stepping into the Civil Surgeon’s role.
