Jamshedpur, April 2: Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested a notorious criminal with a loaded pistol and a chopper at Shastrinagar under the Kadma thana area.
Though the arrested person, identified as Mohammed Fahimudhin is a resident of Bagaansahi in Azadnagar, he wanted to reign terror in the Kadma area by committing some grievous crime.
Revealing about the breakthrough, the City SP, Kumar Shibashish, said that to get his heinous plan executed, Fahimudhin had taken a portion of a house on rent at Shastrinagar Block No 3, leaving his house about eight km away in Azadnagar.

“Late on Wednesday night, we got a tip-off that a middle-aged man was loitering around the Shastrinagar auto-rickshaw stand near Block No 3, with a chopper. As it was a serious thing to know about any such person moving around in a public place with a weapon, we immediately set up a team headed by DSP (CCR) Manoj Kumar Thakur. The team swung into action and nabbed the man and seized the weapon,” said Kumar Shibashish while briefing the newsmen on Thursday.
The City SP stated that on searching the accused, the police team found a loaded pistol in his possession.
The senior police officer said that later during interrogation, the 49-year-old arrested person divulged that his motive behind staying at Shastrinagar was to create a reign of terror.
According to the senior police officer, had the accused Fahimudhin not been arrested he would have committed any grievous crime.

After the briefing was over, the police forwarded him to judicial custody having charged the relevant sections of law.
According to police, Fahimudhin is a history-sheeter and had been to jail in connection with a criminal case registered with the Azadnagar thana.
