Dhanbad, Dec 21: In a heart-wrenching incident, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in Dhanbad stepped in to rehabilitate an infant girl from a minority community, who had been abandoned by her family in a private hospital in Dhanbad.
The infant’s mother, a resident of Giridih district, tragically passed away following the child’s birth at Asari Hospital in Dhanbad.
Hospital doctor alerted CWC
Due to the infant’s critical condition, her family took the mother’s body back to Giridih and left the newborn in the hospital.
Dr. Swati, a doctor at Asarfi Hospital, took immediate action by caring for the infant in the ICU. She alerted CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee, who promptly visited the hospital to ensure the child received the proper care and treatment.
