Ranchi, September 17: Chief Minister Hemant Soren met with a delegation from the Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee at his residential office on Kanke Road, Ranchi, today.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the Chief Minister that, as in previous years, Durga Puja is being organized on a grand scale in Ranchi and nearby areas, with preparations for various pandals in full swing.
The members of the delegation requested that, under his leadership, the state government continue to extend its support to the puja committees, as has been the tradition with assistance from the state government and district administration in previous years.
The committee members honored the Chief Minister by presenting him with an idol of Goddess Durga and a ceremonial dupatta, while also inviting him and his family to visit the pandals and offer prayers to the Goddess.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the members of the Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee.

Permission pending for Puja Pandal at Old Vidhan Sabha Ground
On the occasion, the members of the Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee informed the Chief Minister that for the first time, a grand Durga Puja celebration is being organized at the Old Vidhan Sabha Ground. Land has been allocated by HEC for the establishment of the Puja Pandal, but due to the absence of approval from the district administration, some issues have arisen in organizing the event.
The members of the puja committee expressed their concerns to the Chief Minister and requested permission for the Durga Puja celebration at the location, while also urging that the state government and district administration provide their support for the event.
The Chief Minister directed the district administration to coordinate effectively with the members of the Durga Puja Committee and consider all aspects positively to resolve the issue promptly. He assured the committee that the state government and district administration would provide full support to ensure the successful completion of the Durga Puja at the Old Vidhan Sabha Ground in a harmonious atmosphere.

CM urges district administration and Puja committee for better coordination
The Chief Minister urged the members of the Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee to maintain strong coordination with the district administration. He assured the puja committees that, as in previous years, they would receive full support from both the state government and the district administration this year as well.
He pledged all possible assistance for the successful organization of Durga Puja. He emphasized that the district administration and the puja committees should hold meetings to establish better coordination and ensure the festival is celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious manner.
He noted that, at times, issues arise due to a lack of coordination between the district administration and the puja committees, and stressed that proper arrangements should be made for the event.
Along with faith, environmental protection is also a responsibility
The Chief Minister urged the members of the Puja Committee to prioritize environmental protection along with the celebration of Durga Puja. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between faith and environmental responsibility.
The Chief Minister suggested that in the future, a collective effort should be made to develop a system for idol immersion that preserves the cleanliness of dams, ponds, and rivers, while also upholding the sanctity of the religious tradition.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Avinash Kumar, member of the Jharkhand State Coordination Committee, Vinod Pandey, President of the Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee, Vicky Yadav, Chief Patron Munchun Rai, along with Ashok Purohit, Manoj Pandey, Ashok Chaudhary, Alok Kumar, Rajesh Gupta, Rajesh Thakur, Kundan Singh, Rajendra Singh, and others were present.
