Dhanbad, June 11: The East Central Railway Karmchari Union (ECRKU) held a meeting with the management of Dhanbad Rail Division and discussed the pending promotion of railway employees.
Additional general secretary of ECRKU Md Ziauddin, at the meeting, requested the Dhanbad Rail Division authorities to follow directives of the Railway Board regarding promotion to employees, and if there is any confusion on any matter, they (railway officials) should put up before the general manager (GM).

Promotions long overdue
Md Ziauddin pointed out that it has been found during visits to different railway stations of the division that men have not been given promotions for a long time which has created resentment among them.

At the meeting, ECRKU leaders urged the management to initiate steps for the upgradation of railway employees especially pending the promotion of point men. The Dhanbad Rail Division has an employee strength of around 22,000 and promotions of different sections of employees are pending.
ADRM assures action for promotion
ADRM Amit Kumar who presided over the meeting assured the ECRKU leaders that proper steps would be initiated for the upgradation of employees and promotion of point men soon.
Senior divisional personnel officer Sunjit Kumar, Senior manager (operation) Ajay Tiwari, and senior manager ( signal and communication) Gautam Gupta represented the management.
Central organizing secretary Somen Dutta, AIRF zonal secretary OP Sharma, and Dhanbad Division ECRKU media in-charge Nil Kamal Khawas represented the union at the meeting.
