Gang’s kingpin apprehended
City SP Ajit Kumar identified Sanatan Mandal, a resident of Dhanbad, as the kingpin of the gang. The police first apprehended him, leading to the subsequent arrests of Santosh Rajak and Kamal Hasda from Deoghar and Dumka, respectively.
“In the wake of rising incidents of bike lifting in the district, a team under DSP (Law and Order) was constituted to probe. Last week, a bike lifter was arrested red-handed at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital in Dhanbad. During interrogation, the arrested lifter disclosed the names of his accomplices, which led to the arrests and recovery of stolen bikes,” said the City SP.
