Dhanbad, July 2: The Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) zone set a new record for freight loading of 48.71 million tons in the first quarter (between April to June months) of the 2024-25 financial year.
A senior official of the Dhanbad Rail Division said that in the first quarter of 2024-25 financial year, the division registered a 5.82 per cent growth in freight loading in comparison to previous corresponding years. In the 2023-24 financial year, the Dhanbad Rail Division recorded 46.03 million tons of freight loading in 1st quarter (between April to June).

Dhanbad Division earns revenue of Rs. 6777.31 crores
According to the official record from freight loading in the 1st quarter of 2024-25, the Dhanbad Division has earned an initial revenue of Rs. 6777.31 crores which is 4.86 per cent higher in comparison to the previous financial year’s 1st quarter. In the 2023-24 financial year, the Division had earned revenue from freight was Rs 6463.30 crores.
The divisional official said 48.71-million-ton freight loading and revenue earning of Rs 6777.31 crores in the 1st quarter of the 2024-25 financial year is the highest among 257 rail divisions of the country.
In the 2023-24 financial year, the Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) zone had topped among 257 rail divisions of the country in freight loading and revenue collection.
