Dhanbad, Oct 26: Students from DPS Bokaro displayed their scientific skills during the two-day Science Summit, titled ‘Srijan.’ The event was inaugurated by Prof. Somnath Chattopadhyay, the head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT ISM Dhanbad, who served as the chief guest.
Approximately 150 students participated, showcasing their talents through science exhibitions, robotics displays, and presentations on child rights.
Prof. Chattopadhyay commended the participants for their impressive presentations and highlighted the significance of such events. He stated, “There are infinite possibilities for learning beyond the classroom,” emphasizing that only through the innovative power of youth can the dream of a developed India be realized by 2047.
Awards and achievements in various categories
The judges’ panel comprised Assistant Professors from IIT ISM, including Dr Zafar Alam and Arun Dayal Uday, as well as faculty members from BIT Mesra, Dr. Priyank Saxena and Dr. Vinay Kumar, Secretary of the National Children’s Science Congress (Jharkhand), and P.R.K. Verma.
In the Science Exhibition (Junior Category), Ganga House’s model titled ‘A Surge of Life’ secured first place, followed by Jamuna House with ‘Sunshine for Safe Sips’ in second, and Jhelum House’s ‘Algae Discernment’ in third.

In the Senior Category, Raavi House’s ‘Smart Home Project’ clinched the first position, with Ganga House’s ‘Drop Cover Hold’ in second and Jhelum House’s ‘Eco-Bricks for Eco-Roads’ in third.
Recognition in child rights and IT competitions
The Inter-House Child Rights competition also showcased remarkable projects. In the Junior Category, Chenab House’s ‘Vivid Dreams’ secured first place, while Jamuna House’s ‘Sleep Deprivation’ took second and Ganga House’s ‘Hausalon Ki Udaan’ earned third.
In the Senior Category, Sutlej House’s ‘Stress and Strain in the Digital Age’ claimed first place, with Jamuna House’s ‘Sapnon Ki Udaan’ in second, and Chenab House’s ‘Vichar-Sanchar-Vikas’ and Raavi House’s ‘A Substantive Right for Children’ sharing third.
In the IT competition for the Junior Category, Manish Ranjan of Jhelum House, Atharv Tiwari of Jamuna House, and Atharv Kumar of Ganga House secured the top three positions.
In the Senior Category, Amrit Raj from Jamuna House took first, Palaksh Singh from Ganga House earned second, and Sarvagya Singh from Raavi House placed third.

Quiz competition highlights and principal’s remarks
In the Inter-House Quiz Competition (Senior Category), Jhelum House claimed first place, followed by Jamuna House and Chenab House in second and third, respectively.
DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A.S. Gangwar emphasised the importance of such events in fostering scientific awareness among students, highlighting their role in nurturing future innovators and thinkers.
