Jamshedpur, Sept 4: The East Singhbhum district administration has swung into action following reports of diarrhoea cases in Belgoda village under Bodam block and Purnadih village in Patamda block.
Swift Administrative Response
Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi directed Civil Surgeon Dr Sahir Pal to immediately deploy health teams, set up medical camps, and ensure timely treatment for all patients. Acting promptly, medical teams visited the affected villages, conducted health check-ups, distributed medicines, and spread awareness about hygiene, safe drinking water, and food safety.

Vigil at the Block Level
Dr Pal confirmed that block-level medical teams have been mobilised across the district to maintain close surveillance. Block Medical Officers have been instructed to identify cases quickly, provide immediate treatment, and submit regular reports to the district headquarters.
Appeal to Villagers
The Deputy Commissioner urged residents to report symptoms without delay and to adopt preventive measures such as drinking boiled water, washing hands regularly, and avoiding open defecation.
Water Sources Under Watch
As a preventive step, the administration has begun testing and chlorinating local drinking water sources in the affected villages to check further spread of the disease.
