Jamshedpur, May 16: A proactive public hearing chaired by East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal at the Collectorate office saw a strong turnout, with over 90 residents presenting concerns from various blocks and panchayats across the district.

The forum served as a direct bridge between citizens and the administration, bringing to light a wide range of issues — from disputes over land and shop allotments to urban parking contractor misconduct, delays in official documentation, and social welfare concerns like pension approvals and ration card errors. Residents from Mango also highlighted a pressing drinking water crisis.

Demonstrating prompt administrative response, the DC personally reviewed each grievance and issued immediate instructions to the respective departments for swift, fair action. A notable number of problems were addressed and resolved during the session itself.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal underscored the significance of such hearings in fostering transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement. He urged officials to treat unresolved matters with urgency and clear backlogs efficiently.
